Last week, the UK became the first western nation to authorize Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine, leapfrogging the rest of Europe and the United States. According to Health Secretary Matt Hancock, an initial 800,000 doses will be delivered from Pfizer's facilities in Belgium to the UK this week, followed by "many millions" more before the end of the year.
